Zervidis, Petros ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Hlinovská, Jana (referee)
Title: A case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effects of the physiotherapy treatment that was provided to a patient who suffered a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. The first part of the thesis is intended to provide theoretical knowledge of the anatomical, kinesiological, and aetiological background of the pertrochanteric fracture, while also discussing potential physiotherapeutic approaches. The second part of this thesis illustrates the practical physiotherapeutic approach to a patient who suffered a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. Clinical findings: This case study is evaluating the condition of an 85-year-old patient who underwent an osteosynthesis surgical procedure after experiencing a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. The assessment took place 4 days post-surgery and illustrated a significant limitation of ROM on the operated side along with several musculoskeletal defects. Methods: All the methods and procedures incorporated in this work were based on the literature suggested by Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: After 11 sessions of physical therapy there was a notable improvement in the...

Ioannou, Persia ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Kozderková, Romana (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of pertrochanteric fracture of the left hip joint. Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to initially review the anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics underlying the patient's condition, as well as demonstrate, analyze and evaluate the therapeutic units that were provided. Clinical findings: This study was evaluating the state of a 40- year-old patient with the main diagnosis of pertrochanteric fracture of the left hip joint. The assessment showed reduced range of motion and mobility, with differentiation in the condition of the muscles. Also, there was atrophy of the left thigh muscles and the restricted movements. Methods: All the used procedures were based on the literature given thought by the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: The patient made remarkable progress after only 6 sessions of therapy. The patient underwent great progress in terms of pain, range of motion and muscle imbalance in the area of hip. Furthermore, the therapies have shown to be very effective concerning the patient's diagnosis. Conclusion: The therapies that were performed were effective in this patient's concrete diagnosis. Sárazová, Daniela ; Novotná, Irena (advisor) ; Veselá, Irma (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient diagnosed with femoral neck fracture treated with DHS. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is a summary of theoretical knowledge of femoral neck fractures and a case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient, who suffered this fracture and underwent an osteosynthesis with DHS. Methods: This thesis is divided into two parts. The first, general part is based on the research of professional literature. It describes the anatomy and kinesiology of hip joint, trauma of the proximal femur area, especially femoral neck fractures, options of their treatment and recommended physiotherapy approaches and methods. The second, specialized part covers the case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient diagnosed with femoral neck fracture, which was treated with DHS osteosynthesis. The case study includes the physiotherapy assessment of the patient before and after the treatment, process of the physiotherapy treatment and evaluation of the treatment effect based on the assessments. Results: The result of the physiotherapy treatment was general improvement of patient's condition. The most apparent changes were muscle strength improvement, range of motion improvement, better condition of soft tissues, better gait skills and regained independence of the...
